The Pantanal is a huge marsh/wetlands approximately the size of Greece located in western Brazil where it adjoins Bolivia. In the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, south of Cuiaba, this wetlands drains nearly all of South America. In August through November, the dry season, the water level recedes, rivers and patches of dry land are formed allowing viewing of jaguars on the banks from small boats.
